Syngenta Scimitar GC Insecticide

Description:Syngenta Scimitar GC is a highly effective insecticide designed to provide broad-spectrum control of a wide range of insect pests. It contains the active ingredient lambda-cyhalothrin, a synthetic pyrethroid that targets pests through contact and ingestion. This insecticide is commonly used in various agricultural settings, offering both preventative and curative action against a variety of destructive insects.

Use Rates:

  • Ornamentals: 1.5 - 5.0 fl. oz. per 100 gallons.

Restrictions:

  • Pre-harvest Interval (PHI): The PHI can vary, but typical intervals are 7 to 21 days depending on the crop. Be sure to check the label for the specific interval for your crops.

  • Application frequency: Do not apply more than the maximum number of applications per growing season, as indicated on the product label.

  • Weather considerations: Avoid application in windy conditions to minimize drift. Ensure there is no rainfall within 6–8 hours after application for maximum effectiveness.

  • Pollinator protection: Apply during times when pollinators are least active, such as early morning or late evening, to protect bees and other beneficial insects.

Safety:

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear appropriate PPE, such as gloves, long-sleeve shirts, long pants, and eye protection when handling and applying Scimitar GC.

  • Environmental precautions: Prevent contamination of water bodies by avoiding application near water sources and following proper disposal practices for containers and unused product.

  • Toxicity: Scimitar GC is toxic if inhaled or swallowed, and prolonged exposure can cause skin and eye irritation. In case of exposure, follow first-aid instructions on the product label.

Active Ingredient:

  • Lambda-cyhalothrin (9.7% active ingredient): A synthetic pyrethroid insecticide that disrupts the nervous system of insects, causing paralysis and death.
