Product Description:
Corteva Lontrel is a selective post-emergence herbicide formulated to control a wide range of broadleaf weeds in turfgrass, cereals, rangeland, and non-crop areas. Powered by Clopyralid, it targets and eliminates invasive weeds without harming desirable grasses, making it a preferred choice for golf courses, pastures, and industrial vegetation management.

Target Weeds Controlled:

Lontrel is effective against many broadleaf weeds, including but not limited to:

  • Canada thistle (Cirsium arvense)

  • Clover (Trifolium spp.)

  • Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale)

  • Ragweed (Ambrosia spp.)

  • Oxeye daisy (Leucanthemum vulgare)

  • Plantains (Plantago spp.)

  • Hawkweed (Hieracium spp.)

  • Chickweed (Stellaria media)

  • Curly dock (Rumex crispus)

  • Horseweed (Conyza canadensis)

Application Rates:

The recommended application rates depend on the target weed species and site:

  • Turf & Ornamentals, Non-Crop Areas: 1/4 - 1 1/3 pints per acre

Always refer to the product label for specific application rates based on the weed species and stage of growth.


Use Restrictions:

Do Not Apply: Near water bodies, sensitive crops (e.g., legumes, vegetables), or in areas with shallow groundwater.
Avoid Drift: Use drift reduction measures to prevent contact with desirable plants.
Grazing Restrictions: Livestock should not graze on treated areas for at least 7 days.
Replanting Intervals: Do not plant sensitive crops for at least 12 months after application.


Safety & Handling:

PPE Required: Wear gloves, protective clothing, and eye protection.
Environmental Precautions: Avoid runoff into waterways; Clopyralid is persistent in soil.
Storage & Disposal: Store in original containers away from food, feed, and water sources. Follow local regulations for disposal.
First Aid: In case of contact, rinse skin with water. If ingested, seek medical attention immediately.
